50+ work as a propellant for active aging
Abstract
According to the Institute of Applied Economic Research (2019) the population peak in Brazil will lead to a significant aging of the population, whose projection is more than 43 million older in 2031. This article aims to analyze the work of 50+ as a propellant for active aging in the municipality of Belém. Specifically, the article seeks to identify the potential mature entrepreneur in the capital of Pará and learn about the perceptions of the interviewees about the reinvention of work after 50 years. For this, a qualitative investigation was developed, using online questionnaires in Google Forms to collect data, answered by 33 professionals, entrepreneurs and 50+ retirees. It can be con-cluded that 50+ work can contribute to active aging through the insertion or continuity of mature people in the labor market. Public policies that facilitate reinvention are necessary, as well as entre-preneurship of 50+ professionals.
