Editorial note. Message from the Director
Abstract
This special issue of the New Series of Studies / Working Papers GIGAPP includes the articles that during the IX Congress of Government and Public Administration held in September 2018 in Madrid, were distinguished with the VIII Joan Prats Young Researchers Award and other articles presented in the congressional sessions. The objective of this publication is to promote the development of new lines of research and give visibility to the creative efforts of young Ibero-American researchers. Two issues are key in the content of this issue. First of all, the government's approach to the 2030 agenda and the strategies that can be put in place to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). One of the articles focuses on the analysis of housing policy and its importance in the fight against poverty and inequality. Secondly, there is an extensive assessment of the importance of citizen participation in the design and planning processes of public policies. In the articles, the impact that technologies have had on the adoption of new models of citizen involvement in the public sphere and the opening processes that have been unleashed from the perspective of open government stands out as a key variable.
With this January issue we begin a process of renewal of our Editorial Committee and activate new formulas of collaboration to make a qualitative leap in the work we have been doing in recent years.
