The application of the right of access to public information in Cataluña: performance balance of the Guarantee Commission of the Right of Access to Public Information
Abstract
Following the entry of the Catalan Law 19/2014, on transparency, access to public information and good governance, on May 2015 the Guarantee Commission of the Right of Access to Public Information was established. This Commission is configured as the independent body, appointed by the Parliament of Cataluña, whose purpose is to guarantee compliance with Catalan legislation on transparency. In this sense, after just over a year of the creation of this body, we believe that it is a good time to review not only some aspects that affect its institutional configuration, but also the activity carried out in guarantee of the Right to Access to public information in Cataluña.
